Black Salt Games Privacy Policy

This Game Privacy Policy explains how Black Salt Games Limited (“we” or “us”) collects, stores, uses, and discloses limited information in connection with DREDGE+ when played on Apple platforms, including iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and Apple Arcade.

We collect and process information only as necessary to operate and support DREDGE+ and its related Apple platform features, and only to the extent permitted by applicable law. This policy applies solely to gameplay and in-app functionality for DREDGE+ on Apple platforms and must be read in conjunction with our Terms of Use and Apple’s applicable platform terms and policies.

Personal Information

Black Salt Games requires personal information only in limited circumstances when you:

  • Contact us for customer support
  • Provide feedback or report a bug or defect relating to DREDGE+

In these cases, the personal information collected may include:

  • Your email address
  • Information you choose to include in your communication

You may decide not to provide this information, however this may limit our ability to respond to your request.

Automated Collection via Apple Services

DREDGE+ does not collect gameplay telemetry, behavioural analytics, crash logs, or diagnostic data directly.

The following limited information is processed via Apple platform services:

Apple App Analytics

Apple provides us with anonymised, aggregated usage data through App Analytics. This data does not identify individual players and is used solely for high-level reporting purposes, including Apple platform bonus pool reporting.

Black Salt Games does not receive access to player-level or personally identifiable analytics data.

Game Center

When Game Center functionality is enabled, DREDGE+ uses Apple’s Game Center services.

Game Center processes a player identifier that is:

  • Generated and managed by Apple
  • Not shared with Black Salt Games
  • Not stored or accessed by Black Salt Games
  • Not associated with a player’s name, email address, or other directly identifying personal information

Black Salt Games does not receive or store this identifier. All Game Center data is handled by Apple in accordance with Apple’s privacy policies.

How Your Information Is Used

We may use the information described above only for purposes necessary to operate and support DREDGE+, including to:

  • Enable Apple platform features
  • Support game functionality reliant on platform services
  • Maintain compatibility with Apple systems
  • Respond to customer support requests
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not use this information for advertising, marketing, profiling, or tracking.

Disclosure of Information

We will not sell, rent, or lease your personal information to third parties.

Your information may be disclosed only:

  • Through Apple’s operation of its platform services, including the App Store, Game Center, and App – Analytics
  • To trusted service providers acting on our behalf, who are contractually required to:
    • Use the information only in accordance with our instructions
    • Not use the information for their own purposes
    • Not further disclose the information
  • Where authorised, required, or permitted by law

Black Salt Games Limited is based in New Zealand and operates internationally. Information may be processed in New Zealand or other countries that are regarded as providing an adequate level of protection for personal information.

Storage and Security

Personal information provided to us for support or feedback purposes is collected and held by Black Salt Games. We will take reasonable efforts to protect information held by us from loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as necessary to:

  • Support the operation of the game
  • Respond to support requests
  • Comply with legal and regulatory obligations

Information is deleted or anonymised when it is no longer required for these purposes.

Permissions and Your Choices

You may decline or withdraw permissions through your device or platform settings.

If you do so:

  • Certain Apple platform features (such as Game Center functionality) may be unavailable
  • Some game functionality that relies on those services may be limited

Core offline gameplay remains available.

Separately, if you choose to contact us for customer support or provide feedback, you may decide how much information to share and may stop communicating with us at any time. Providing personal information for support purposes is optional; however, choosing not to provide it may limit our ability to respond to or resolve your request.

Children

DREDGE+ is not intended for children under the age of 13, or the equivalent minimum age in the relevant jurisdiction.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that such information has been collected, we will take reasonable steps to delete it promptly. Parents or guardians may contact us at admin@blacksaltgames.com if they believe such data has been collected.

Data Access and Correction

Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and other applicable laws, you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information that we hold about you. In certain circumstances, you may also request that we restrict processing of your information or provide it to you or another organisation.
